The Municipal Chief Executive for the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly, Felix Odartey Lamptey, has honoured Exulted Football Club following the team’s qualification to the Middle League Division.
The colourful ceremony, held at the Conference Hall of the Assembly, saw the MCE present a cash reward of Ten Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHS 10,000) to the team together with several food items, including bags of rice, cooking oil, packs of bottled water, assorted drinks, boxes of sugar, cartons of milk and Milo.
Hon. Felix Odartey Lamptey also presented a citation to the team in recognition of their outstanding performance and dedication throughout the competition.
In appreciation, the Exulted Football Club presented medals and their trophy to the Municipal Chief Executive and assured him of their determination to excel in the upcoming Middle League Division.
Addressing the players, technical team and supporters, the MCE reiterated his commitment to sports development within the municipality. He stressed the importance of discipline in sports and assured the team of his continuous support, adding that the Assembly would work tirelessly to encourage the growth of more football clubs and sporting talents across the municipality.
Speaking on behalf of the team, Coach Kwesi Anim Anokye expressed profound gratitude to the MCE for the honour and support extended to the club. He also appealed for additional assistance, particularly in the areas of training facilities and logistics, to enhance the team’s performance in future competitions.
Present at the ceremony were the Presiding Member of the Assembly, Wilfred Ayittey Blankson; the Municipal Sports Director, Matilda Clottey; the National Youth Authority Director for the Assembly, Solomon Nii Otokunor Sackey; member of the Sports Committee, Bennett Cofie; and SAEMT of the Ghana National Ambulance Service, Commander Nurudeen.
