The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has announced the expansion of its Integrated Tax Administration System (ITAS) to more taxpayers across Accra, describing the digital platform as a major step towards modernising tax administration and improving service delivery.
Speaking at a stakeholder engagement in Accra, Commissioner-General Anthony Kwasi Sarpong said the platform is designed to create a seamless and efficient relationship between taxpayers and the tax authority by bringing multiple tax processes onto a single integrated system.
According to him, ITAS was launched on April 1, 2026, with a limited rollout in the Kaneshie and Accra West areas, where the system has already undergone pilot testing.
Mr Sarpong explained that the platform will integrate various tax types, including PAYE, VAT, Corporate Income Tax, and other taxpayer services into one central portal, allowing businesses to engage with GRA through a single point of contact.
He noted that ITAS will eventually capture every aspect of a taxpayer’s relationship with GRA, including filing, payment, audits, reviews, debt management, and interactions with tax consultants.
The Commissioner-General said the system will also integrate with the Integrated Customs Management System (ICUMS), enabling seamless sharing of taxpayer data and reducing the need for businesses to repeatedly submit the same information to different GRA departments.
“This is an efficiency process system that we are introducing,” he said, assuring stakeholders that the rollout of ITAS does not come with any new taxes or hidden charges.
Mr Sarpong stressed that the initiative is aimed at reducing compliance costs, improving transparency, shortening processing times, and creating a more taxpayer-friendly environment.
He further assured businesses that no taxpayer would be left behind in the transition, adding that GRA would provide support and guidance to ensure a smooth migration onto the platform.
According to him, the success of ITAS will depend on continuous collaboration between GRA and the business community.
