A middle-aged man aboard a United Airlines flight from Washington Dulles International Airport, United States, was reported dead after arriving at Kotoka International Airport (KIA).
The man is said to have died on Friday 17 June 2022. A statement released on Saturday 18 June 2022 by Ghana Airport Company Limited (GACL) management revealed that the man arrived at the KIA carrying a family member at 10:20am.
According to the statement, the man complained of breathing difficulties and tiredness.So the ground handler offered the man a wheelchair.
However, he lost consciousness in the arrivals hall and received medical attention. He did not respond and was taken to the airport hospital but died.
“In accordance with the protocols, the airport district police station was informed immediately.
“Ghana Airport Company Limited has launched an investigation into the incident,” the statement said.The GACL leadership also expressed “their deepest condolences to the bereaved”.
