Officials of the electoral commission at the Ablekumah District Assembly have been forced to resort to the offline process to register new voters.
This is as a result of the poor network problem which has rendered the online registration process a white elephant.
In an interview, supervisor in charge of the registration process Emmanuel Paemkah described the offline registration approach as faster saying that they the collect data of registrants and later input them onto the EC’s server.
The registrants receive the card instantly but would be unable to use them unless their data is successfully entered onto the server.
“Offline means that we are not using the network direct. We are using a system where the person will just be entered into the system, will be printed and later we transfer the printed from the PC to the server” he said
He also mentioned that his outfit has been able to successfully register close to 600 eligible voters because of the offline process.
