John Dramani Mahama has pledged to complete the Eastern Corridor Road, a project that was initiated by the previous NDC government, but abandoned by the current administration.
The road, which connects Walewale to Nalerigu, and further extends to Nakpanduri, Bumkrugu, and the Eastern Corridor, is crucial for facilitating farming activities and enhancing socio-economic growth in the region
Mahama expressed surprise and disappointment at the abandonment of the project during his campaign tour in the North East region, specifically in the Nakpanduri traditional area. He assured the traditional leaders and community members that the next NDC government will prioritize the completion of all abandoned projects, including the Eastern Corridor Road ¹.
This promise is part of Mahama’s broader plan to create jobs and stimulate economic growth, as outlined in the NDC’s manifesto.
The party aims to invest $10 billion in infrastructure development, including roads, hospitals, schools, and digital infrastructure, which will create over 400,000 jobs ¹.
Key Infrastructure Projects:
- Eastern Corridor Road: Completion of the road from Walewale to Nalerigu, and extension to Nakpanduri, Bumkrugu, and the Eastern Corridor
