Echoing Hills Village, a nonprofit, nongovernmental organization has initiated investigations into allegations of child abuse and diversion of donated items by some workers of the orphanage.
The rumor according to officials at the orphanage is meant to tarnish the image of the center and its management.
A statement issued and signed by Vice Board Chairman of Echoing Hills Village, Mrs. Felicia Opoku – Mensah “nay worker found to be guilty of stealing, beating any child, diverting or smuggling of items donated to the orphanage to be sold secretly would be dealt severely after the investigations.”
The statement also appealed to all and sundry to treat with the contempt it deserves a purported video of child molestation at the center since it is not true.
She therefore “called on the general to disregard a video going round that depicts abuse of children at the center since it is a doctored one.”
According to her “the video were cut and paste and joined together by some bad people in society just to destroy the image of the Director and the orphanage.”
It therefore assured the general public that they are “on top of the issue and will deal with all people involved in this malicious act squarely.’
“We are by this statement urging the general public to have confidence in the management of Echoing Hills Village and join us work together to save, protect and [provide hope to the neglected children in our society.”
It has therefore expressed unwavering commitment to “continue to serve the deprived and developmentally challenged persons in society”.
Meanwhile Echoing Hills Village is a registered nonprofit, nongovernmental organization that provides shelter, care and protection for individuals with disability and children with special needs.
