John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has embarked on a four-day campaign tour of the Bono East Region, starting from Monday, September 2, 2024.
The tour will cover all eleven constituencies in the region, where the NDC currently holds eight parliamentary seats.
During the tour, Mahama will engage with voters, share his vision, and outline his policies and programs as stated in the NDC’s 2024 manifesto, “Resetting Ghana.” His campaign promises include:
- Implementing a 24-hour economy
- Improving the free SHS program
- Abolishing the double-track system
- Introducing the Women’s Development Bank and Farmers Service Centres
- Providing free primary healthcare
- Offering stress-free, no-fee tertiary education for first-year students
- Providing free tertiary education for persons living with disabilities
The campaign tour will move to the Bono Region after completing the Bono East Region leg. According to Joyce Bawah Mogtari, Campaign Spokesperson, Mahama’s itinerary includes six activities in three constituencies for day one: Kintampo North, Nkoranza North, and Techiman North.
