Minister of Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations, Hon. Samuel Nartey George, has commended the management and staff of Ghana Post for their renewed performance, discipline, and teamwork, describing the transformation as evidence of a successful institutional “reset.”
Speaking at the maiden Ghana Post Staff Durbar held in Accra, the Minister said the remarkable progress made by the company under its new leadership demonstrates how unity between management and labour can lead to organisational excellence.
“It is obvious that there has been a reset in Ghana Post. I am proud of the workers; I am proud of management. But this is only the beginning. There are many good things ahead of us,” he said.

Hon. George praised the cordial relationship between management and the Communication Workers Union, noting that such collaboration is a strong foundation for productivity and success.
“When the union and management are on the same wavelength, that is the recipe for productivity and excellence. Conflict only distracts staff from their work, but teamwork drives progress,” he explained.
The Minister also shared the story behind Ghana Post’s involvement in the delivery of chip-embedded passports, revealing that he had personally defended the company’s capacity at cabinet level when doubts were raised about its ability to handle the contract.

“I told the President that there is no private company in Ghana with the footprint and delivery network Ghana Post has,” he recounted, adding that: “People said Ghana Post was dead, but I insisted, give them a chance and they will prove you wrong.”
Hon. George recalled the tense early days of the passport delivery process, when operational challenges threatened to derail the initiative, but praised Managing Director Rita Sraha and her team for their resilience and eventual success.
“Despite all the challenges, Ghana Post proved itself capable and reliable. Today, everyone sees that Ghana Post can deliver,” he said.

He assured staff that the Ministry will continue to advocate for Ghana Post to handle all government-related delivery services, citing its national presence and improved efficiency.
“You can rest assured that as your Minister, I will not sleep if I hear of any government delivery contract going elsewhere. We will fight to ensure every government delivery service is done through Ghana Post,” he declared.
Hon. George encouraged staff to remain focused, innovative, and united, saying the renewed trust in Ghana Post was just the beginning of greater achievements ahead.
