Minority Spokesperson on Mines and Energy John Jinapor has revealed what he said are moves by the Nana Akufo-Addo led administration to ‘forward-sell’ Ghana’s oil for $500million.
The Yapei Kusawgu MP told Sena Nombo on the Gold Morning Conversation the arrangement he has sighted involves the Opoku Ahweneeh Danquah led Ghana National Petroleum Corporation and would see government receive an upfront payment of $500million.
He said Ghana through the GNPC would in return give away a percentage of its share of the oil from exploration activities in the country for an agreed period.

John Jinapor said the price of the oil that Ghana would commit under the arrangement would be fixed at $60 for the period of the agreement.
