John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), is calling on Ghanaians to vote out the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming elections. He believes the NPP needs to be held accountable for its eight years of “bad governance” that has led to unbearable living conditions for many Ghanaians.
Mahama argues that the NPP’s failures, including destroying Ghana’s economy and inflicting hardship, debt, and inflation on citizens, warrant their removal from power.
He stresses that sending the NPP back to the opposition will allow them to reflect on the damage they’ve caused.
During his campaign tour in the Upper West region, specifically in Gwollu and Tumu, Mahama outlined the NPP’s shortcomings and promised to address them if elected.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to revamping the Tumu Cotton ginnery, promised in 2020, to provide jobs for the local community.
Key Promises Made by Mahama:
- Revamp Tumu Cotton Ginnery: To provide employment opportunities for the youth in Tumu.
- Private Sector Management: To ensure efficiency and more employment opportunities
- Economic Recovery: To address the economic hardships inflicted by the NPP
Mahama’s message resonates with many Ghanaians who are seeking change and accountability.
