The Functional Executive Committee of the National Democratic Congress has upheld the annulment of elections in four constituencies.
The four constituencies are Mpraeso, Atiwa West, Afram Plains South and Atiwa East whose elections were annulled by their respective Elections Directorates.
The directive according to the NDC FEC means “elections purported to have been held in these constituencies are illegal, hence null and void. And the party does not recognize same.”
That is according to a statement issued and signed by Deputy Director of Elections of the NDC Daniel Amartey.
The statement said the NDC FEC also by a unanimous resolution dissolved the Eastern Regional Elections Committee of the party and directed the National Elections Directorate “to put together a Special Taskforce to collaborate with Regional Executive Committee of the Eastern Region to oversee the conduct of elections in the remaining constituencies in the Eastern Region.”
