We must take our destiny into our own hands to reset NDC in Weija-Gbawe for 2028 victory – Patrick Asford Boadu
Patrick Asford Boadu, a journalist and Chairman hopeful of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Weija-Gbawe Constituency, has reiterated his determination to help reset and reposition the party in the constituency ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Mr. Boadu made the remarks after filing his nomination to contest the NDC Constituency Chairmanship position, saying the party’s grassroots structures must be strengthened and empowered to deliver victory in 2028.
According to him, the NDC must take responsibility for its own fortunes by building a united, disciplined and effective grassroots organisation capable of mobilising voters across the constituency.
“We have to take our destiny into our own hands and work assiduously to reset the NDC in the Weija-Gbawe Constituency for victory in 2028,” he said.
Mr. Boadu said his decision to contest the chairmanship was driven by a commitment to serve the rank and file of the party and provide effective leadership at the branch, ward and constituency levels.
He stressed the need to prioritise branch executives, arguing that they remain the backbone of the party and must be adequately supported to perform their roles.
“Branch Executives First! Empowerment is my priority,” he said, outlining what he described as a people-centred approach to party administration.
The Chairman hopeful said his agenda would focus on rebuilding the party’s grassroots structures, promoting unity among executives and members, improving communication and strengthening the party’s presence in communities across Weija-Gbawe.
He further called on party members and supporters to avoid personal attacks and divisive politics, stressing that the ultimate objective must be to build a united NDC capable of winning the 2028 presidential and parliamentary elections.
Mr. Boadu said his vision is anchored on what he describes as the R5 Agenda for Victory—Rescue, Reform, Rebuild, Rebrand and Reset.
He pledged to work with all stakeholders irrespective of their affiliations within the constituency, saying the party needs a unifying leadership that can bring its various constituencies and grassroots structures together.
“I am offering myself to serve, unite and empower the grassroots. We need to restore confidence, rebuild our structures and create a party organisation that works for every branch executive and every committed member,” he added.
Mr. Boadu expressed confidence that with unity, hard work, transparency and effective grassroots mobilisation, the NDC could strengthen its electoral fortunes in the Weija-Gbawe Constituency ahead of 2028.
