Patrick Asford Boadu, a journalist and media practitioner, has officially filed his nomination to contest the Constituency Chairmanship position of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Weija-Gbawe Constituency.
Mr. Boadu, popularly known as PAB, is seeking to lead the constituency with a focus on strengthening grassroots structures, empowering branch executives and promoting unity among party members ahead of the 2028 general elections.
His decision to contest the position forms part of his broader agenda to rebrand, reform, rebuild, restore and reset the NDC in the Weija-Gbawe Constituency.
Mr. Boadu has emphasised the need to place branch executives at the centre of constituency activities, arguing that effective grassroots mobilisation is critical to the party’s electoral fortunes.
His campaign message, “Branch Executives First! Empowerment is my Priority,” highlights his commitment to supporting branch-level leadership and strengthening the party’s structures from the grassroots.
The chairmanship hopeful has also pledged to promote a culture of unity, transparency, accountability and inclusiveness, while discouraging personal attacks and divisive politics within the constituency.
Mr. Boadu brings to the contest years of experience in journalism, political communication and grassroots engagement. He has covered political and governance issues in the Weija-Gbawe area for several years and has been involved in party and community activities within the constituency.
He has stated that his ambition is to build a united and well-organised constituency capable of effectively supporting the NDC’s presidential and parliamentary candidates in the 2028 elections.
The NDC’s internal elections are expected to provide party members with the opportunity to elect constituency executives who will lead the party’s grassroots mobilisation and organisational activities in the constituency.
