A long serving branch Executive of the of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Tema West is seeking to lead the party’s bid to wrestle the seat from the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The NDC in 2012 came close to wrestling the seat which is currently held by a Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry Carlos Ahenkora from the NPP when the current National Chairman of the opposition party Samuel Ofosu Ampofo contested former MP Naa Torshie Addo.
Rashid Isah who has served as Branch Communications Director and Branch Secretary for Tema West believes he has what it takes to win the seat for the NDC.
Rashid Isah is seen as a Grassroots Unifier who will perfectly fit to be the face of the party in the 2020 battle for Tema West.
He tells Radiogoldlive.com that he has shown, since he started working for Tema West NDC, that he has what it takes to galvanize support and votes for the party.
Rashid Isah believes he appeals across the political divide due to his philanthropic activities and involvement in Rotary/Rotaract.
“I am well placed to inspire both the youth and Elderly within the constituency and beyond when elected candidate of the NDC in Tema West,” he stated.
The Tema West is seen as an NPP stronghold which will be difficult for the NDC to win but Rashid Isah believes that claim is far from the truth.
He is convinced he represents the brightest hope of the NDC in the 2020 parliamentary tussle because of his strong connections with the grassroots and plan to reinvigorate the NDC in Tema West by making the party in the constituency one that rewards loyalty and hardwork of members.
He further indicated that will “establish a base to ensure a smooth penetration for the victory of NDC in Tema West in 2020” by uniting the party.
Rashid Isah is a founding member of the Winsconsin branch of the Tertiary Education Institution Network (TEIN) and has also served as President of the Winsconsin branches of NUGS, PUSAG and ROTARACT
