UK based Accounting and Auditing Professional Conrad Dumbah says President Akufo-Addo’s emergency address to the nation failed to meet expectations.
According to him halfway through President Akufo-Addo’s speech, he regretted tuning in to listen to the speech.
President Akufo-Addo last Sunday announced twelve he said was targeted at addressing the cost of living crisis confronting Ghanaians.
Responding to the President’s address in an interview with Sena Nombo on the Gold Morning Conversation, UK based Accounting Professional Conrad Dumbah expressed surprise that the President still blamed Ghana’s crisis on COVID-19 and Ukraine.
He described the two events as discredited and disproved old ‘toli’ that exposed the President’s misdiagnosis of the causes of the economic crisis with which Ghana was confronted.
Conrad Dumbah said the President did not deal with the “details of the matters at hand.”
“He simply started a complete rehash of disproving versions of the causes of our current woes, he completely dodged the main causes and provided very high level views that had nothing to do with what we expected.”
Conrad Dumbah said the President failed to acknowledge that the “massive debt overhung” was responsible for the currency crisis and rising inflation.
He said the cedi has been under siege because of the over ¢500billion debt that confronted the country.
