The Assembly Member for the New Weija East Electoral Area, Hon. Sadiatu Issah, has called for sanitation management education to begin at the basic school level and at an early age.
According to her, instilling the habit of proper waste disposal in children from their formative years will help shape a cleaner and healthier society.
She made this appeal during the 20th anniversary celebration of Josak Academy, held yesterday under the theme “20 Years of Academic Excellence and Embracing the Future.”
Hon. Sadiatu Issah also used the occasion to advise pupils to respect and obey their parents, foster parents, and guardians, stressing that such discipline attracts God’s blessings. She encouraged the students to study hard, follow their teachers’ instructions, and remain focused on their education.
Turning her attention to parents, the Assembly Member urged them to take a keen interest in the holistic development of their children, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically. She further advised parents to assist their wards with homework, attend Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) meetings regularly, and maintain open communication with teachers to monitor the progress of their children.
“Parents must show responsibility in the upbringing of their children.
Asking about the performance of your children directly from their teachers is also key,” she emphasized.
The celebration brought together pupils, parents, staff, and stakeholders of Josak Academy, who reflected on two decades of academic excellence while looking ahead to the future.
