John Dramani Mahama, the Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress, has criticized the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for making false claims. Specifically, he referenced Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s statement that Ghanaians can travel with their Ghana card, which Mahama says is untrue.
Mahama’s criticism came after an attempt to use the Ghana card to access digital gates at the Kotoka International Airport failed. He quipped, “The digital gate didn’t open for the digital man,” suggesting that the NPP’s digitalization efforts are weak.
Mahama also accused the NPP of spreading propaganda, including claims that the NDC plans to abolish the Free SHS program.
He assured that the next NDC government will instead prioritize abandoned education projects, complete E-block schools, and improve learning facilities.
Mahama’s comments were made during his campaign tour in the Ashanti region, where he outlined his party’s plans for education and digitalization.
