Former President John Mahama has backed calls for independent investigations into Akoosombo Dam spillage that has left thousands displaced.
The displace have now been virtually neglected by the Nana Akufo-Addo administration as all of them have been left to fend for themselves and live in classrooms and tents provided by well meaning Ghanaians
This according to Flagbearer and Leader of the National Democratic Congress John Mahama is appalling.
He chastised the failure of government to fully resettle and compensate victims of the Akosombo Dam spillage months after the tragic man made disaster.
The former President accused government of being insensitive to the plight of the flood victims and backed calls for a Parliamentary Probe into the spillage.
He was speaking during the commissioning of housing units to resettle 300 families affected by the floods in North Tongu constructed under the auspices of MP for the area Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa with funding from many well-meaning.
Member of Parliament for North Tongu Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa said express disappointment and described as unacceptable the fact that more than 5 months after the spillage and its attendant crisis, no concrete action has been taken to restore victims to their previous lives.
