The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has shared a 16-minute tape they claim shows Attorney General Godfred Dame telling a witness, Richard Jakpa, what to say in court. They say Dame was coaching Jakpa to give false statements against Minority Leader Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson.
At a press conference on May 28, NDC Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketiah explained that the tape proves Dame was trying to influence Jakpa’s testimony to hurt Dr. Forson. Nketiah said this coaching was meant to make Jakpa’s statements sound like Dr. Forson did something wrong.
Jakpa, who is the third accused in the ambulance case, had previously said he was pressured to give evidence against Dr. Forson. The NDC believes this tape supports Jakpa’s claim and raises serious questions about the Attorney General’s actions in this important case.
