Accra, Ghana – April 27, 2025
As Ghana approaches the rainy season, the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) has reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and property through a major flood simulation exercise held in the Greater Accra Region.
The exercise, aimed at testing and strengthening evacuation and emergency response protocols, brought together key officials including the Deputy Director-General in charge of Operations, Hon. Teddy Safori Addi, and the Greater Accra Regional Director, Hon. Dennis Adjannor Nartey.
Speaking after the event, Hon. Nartey emphasized that the initiative is in line with the vision of former President H.E. John Dramani Mahama to build a resilient and proactive nation capable of mitigating the risks associated with natural disasters.
“This critical exercise allowed us to rigorously assess our preparedness, sharpen our response strategies, and identify areas for improvement,”
Hon. Nartey stated. “We are determined to act swiftly, effectively, and compassionately whenever the need arises.”
Under the leadership of H.E. John Dramani Mahama, NADMO continues to prioritize the safety and well-being of Ghanaians, ensuring that disaster response efforts are both people-centered and effective.
“As a government that places people first, we remain fully committed to saving lives, preserving livelihoods, and minimizing the impact of floods,” Hon. Nartey added.
“Residents of Greater Accra and beyond can rest assured that NADMO stands ready and equipped to serve with dedication and excellence.”
NADMO’s proactive approach is seen as crucial in the face of increasingly unpredictable weather patterns, and the organization has urged all citizens to remain vigilant and to cooperate with emergency directives during the rainy season.
