President John Dramani Mahama has called on industry stakeholders to fully embrace and harness the opportunities presented by the 24-hour economy policy, positioning it as a game-changer for Ghana’s economic transformation.
“Let’s make Ghana a nation where opportunity never sleeps,” President Mahama declared, encouraging players across sectors to engage proactively with the policy and maximize its potential benefits.
The President made these remarks during an engagement session with industry leaders, where he provided updates on the current status and implementation strategy of the 24-hour economy policy.
He described the initiative as both a destination and a program, as well as a mechanism to accelerate Ghana’s export framework.
“I have received a completed draft of the 24-hour economy policy from my advisor, Mr. Augustine Goosie Tanoh,” President Mahama revealed.
“After a thorough review, I am confident we now have a coherent and actionable framework capable of delivering tangible results.”
He emphasized that a stable macroeconomic environment is a crucial catalyst for the success of the initiative, an outcome that is being realized through improved coordination between monetary and fiscal authorities.
President Mahama also highlighted the core pillars of the policy, noting that it is sharply focused on Production, Enterprise, Jobs, and Export, key sectors expected to drive inclusive economic growth and provide sustainable employment for Ghanaians.
The 24-hour economy policy, according to the President, is not just about extended working hours, but about reshaping Ghana’s economic landscape to support continuous productivity, competitiveness, and innovation.
