Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has arrived in the United States to participate in the 70th anniversary celebrations of Sister Cities International in Washington, D.C.
The anniversary event, dubbed the “70th Anniversary Homecoming,” marks seven decades of promoting peace, unity, mutual understanding and friendship among communities across international borders.
Established in 1956, Sister Cities International has become a global platform for strengthening ties between cities and communities through people-to-people diplomacy and international partnerships.
The Vice President is expected to deliver the keynote address at the event, where she will highlight Ghana’s commitment to strengthening international cooperation and deepening partnerships that promote economic growth.
The celebration will also reflect on the organisation’s achievements over the past 70 years while outlining a shared vision for the future of global partnerships.
On the sidelines of the event, Professor Opoku-Agyemang is also expected to engage with members of the Ghanaian community in Washington, D.C.
