Private legal practitioner and member of the National Democratic Congress Edudzi Tamakloe is urging Ghanaians to judge President Akufo-Addo’s promise to build 88 districts hospitals using his track record.
President Akufo-Addo made the announcement in his 8th COVID-19 recorded broadcast to the nation. He also announced that he will build a regional hospital each for the six new regions he has created; in addition to building 3 new hospitals specialized in the treatment and management of infectious diseases.
Speaking to host of the Gold Power Drive Sena Nombo, Edudzi Tamakloe said the President’s promise was vague on details.
He questioned the funding sources and designs of the hospitals in question and wondered how the President intended to undertake such a project.
According to the private legal practitioner, the President’s track record with regards to delivery on promises raises serious doubts his intention to fulfill the latest one.
Edudzi Tamakloe also pointed to a similar promise in the NPP manifesto to construct hospitals in districts that lacked.
He said the President’s promise was a rehash of the manifesto promise which he had failed to fulfill after more than 3 years in government.
He believed the President cannot be trusted to deliver on this promise because of the manner in which he has delivered on his flagship promises of one district one factory, one village one dam, $1million per constituency among several others.
