The Dynamic Youth Movement of Ghana was this morning taken aback by the announcement of the Supreme Court that it will have to wait longer for judgment on a case filed in 2017.
The leadership of the movement led by Edward Tuttor today turned up in court hoping that further progress will be made towards the long awaited judgment on the case they filed against what has become known as KenBond.
The group filed a case at the Supreme Court challenging the processes leading to and the the issuance of $2.25billion bond by the Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta barely two months after President Akufo-Addo assumed office.
After two years in court, DYMOG was today told the case will be further delayed because one of the seven judges sitting on the case is due for retirement.
According to the court, the development means the panel will have to be reconstituted.
The group and its lawyers were also told the development will not significantly impact processes filed by all parties in the case as the new panel will depend on what has been filed.
The announcement has left DYMOG disappointed as they were hoping for progress towards judgment despite the impending retirement of Justice Sophia Adinyira.
