The Attorney General will this morning produce original copies of documents issued in connection with a sensitization project under former MASLOC CEO Sedina Tamakloe Attionu.
The documents would cover memos, invoices, payment vouchers and cheques issued in connection with the project.
This is after lawyers for the former CEO and former director of operations of MASLOC rejected photocopies of the documents.
The AG had attempted to tender the documents into evidence through long serving head of finance at MASLOC Francis Bandoh.
Lawyer Agbesi Dzakpasu and Augustine Obour who are representing Sedina Tamakloe Attionu and Daniel Azeem respectively held the opinion that there was the need for original copies of the documents to be produced.
They pointed to some alterations of the photocopies of the documents that needed to be verified through comparison with the original documents.
Even though Senior State Attorney Winnifred Sarpong was of the opinion that the originals of the documents was not necessary, the presiding judge Justice Afia Serwaa Asare Botwe on 21 January 2020 adjourned hearing to today 27 January 2020 for the original copies of the documents to be produced.
This is after the head of Finance at MASLOC Francis Bandoh who is the fifth prosecution witness indicated that the original copies of the documents were archived.
The Sensitization project according to Mr. Bandoh was approved by the immediate past MASLOC Board.
According to him the project was led by former Director of Operations of MASLOC Daniel Azeem with inputs from the CEO.
Mr. Bandoh also told that the board did not approve a budget for the project and that financial releases for the project was made as when necessary.
He said there were documents covering all releases to the project because the necessary invoices and payment vouchers were issued through his office and indicated that in total 1.2 million cedis was issued to the project.
Monies spent on the sensitization project are the subject of charges brought against the former MASLOC CEO Sedina Tamakloe Attionu and her then director of operations Daniel Azeem.
