Member of Parliament for North Tongu has cautioned against attacks against members of the clergy enlisted as Trustees of the National Cathedral project.
The prominent clergymen who are trustees of the infamous project have come under intense scrutiny since it emerged that President Akufo-Addo has spent close to GH¢200 million of public funds on the National Cathedral without evidence of a concrete foundation at the site of the project.
Some Ghanaians have accused the Trustees of being accomplices of the unapproved use of public funds for the project when some of them assured that monies for the project would be from contributions of members of the public.

However, in a post on Facebook Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa who has been at the forefront of exposures related to monies spent on the project without parliamentary approval, believes the clergymen do not deserve the attacks.
“In my deeply candid view, borne out of tons of documents I have reviewed on the Akufo-Addo cathedral scandal – the eminent pastors, just like the rest of us are victims of President Akufo-Addo’s deception, lack of transparency, insensitivity, recklessness and festival of lawlessness.”
The clergy do not deserve to be attacked, they must not be attacked, and we must not encourage or endorse any such attacks,” he stated.
