Member of Parliament for Tamale North Alhassan Suhuyini has dismissed claims that he fabricated a tweet he read on Joy FM to prove that Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia was against government borrowing whiles in opposition.
There have been publications in the media claiming that the Tamale North MPs claim was discredited by Managing Editor of the Crusading Guide newspaper Kweku Baako Jr. on the same platform.
The spokesperson for the Vice President Dr. Gideon Boako has also issued a statement claiming that Vice President never made any such tweet whiles in opposition.
Speaking on GHOne today, Tamale North MP Alhassan Suhuyini dismissed the claim that Kweku Baako Jr. discredited his claim.
He also indicated that he stands by the tweet and insisted that Vice President posted the tweet in question.
Vice President Dr. Bawumia gained notoriety for his condemnation of the borrowing of the erstwhile John Mahama administration whiles in opposition.
He has however come under scrutiny because of the unbridled borrowing of his government which has added GH¢80billion to the debt stock.
Alhassan Suhuyini indicated his preparedness to prove that the Vice President posted a tweet claiming government does not need to borrow to develop Ghana.
The Tamale North MP described Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia as a “dishonest person denigrating the office of Vice President”.
