Former President John Dramani Mahama has conveyed his deepest condolences to the family of the slain International journalist Syed Taaley and the people of Great Britain.
The former President further extended his commiserations to the Ahmadiyya mission in Ghana.
This was disclosed by Member of Parliament for Wa Central Dr. Rashid Pelpuo who led a team to represent the former Ghanaian leader at a prayer ceremony organized before the body of the slain journalist was flown to London.
The other members of the team that represented the former President at the ceremony were Alhaji Mohammed Mamah, Organizer of Zongo Caucus, Alhaji Mohammed Cole, Alhaji Mustafa Abubakar, Alhaji Yahaya kundow, Alhaji Ashka Steven and Alhaji Imam Sanda, Former Ambassador
Ameer and Leader of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission on his part expressed his profound gratitude on behalf of the Muslim Mission to President MAHAMA and the NDC for offering to share in their utmost grief.
Despite the international attention attracted by the incident, there was no government representation at the ceremony.
The former President had experienced concern with the murder of the journalist and called on his successor to address the growing insecurity in the Northern part of the country.
He disclosed that the security situation was fast becoming the number one concern of residents of the North and travelers to that part of the country who constantly suffer brazen attacks at the hands of armed robbers

Syed Taaley, a London based journalist who worked with Muslim TV was allegedly murdered by armed robbers during a robbery attack on the Buipe-Tamale road.
The journalist was in the area in pursuit of a special assignment that involved an assessment of the security situation in the country.
His death has reignited the debate over the growing spate such attacks on that stretch of the road.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Police a few days after the incident arrested some robbers who they believe were involved in recent robberies on Kintampo-Buipe-Tamale Highway after a bloody clash that claimed the lives of two of the robbers.
