Communications Minister Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has told Ghanaians that what they are currently experiencing is not a power crisis known as “Dumsor,” but rather the normal power outages that have always been part of the system.
Speaking on Accra-based Asempa FM, the Communication and Digitalization Minister said, “You can talk about Dumsor today? What we are experiencing is just light off and that has been with us all these years and it is nothing new. What’s dangerous is that we stayed in darkness for four years and there was no end in sight. During my Press conference, the light went off for five minutes, and it came back for us to continue.”
Owusu-Ekuful acknowledged that there is hardship in the country when speaking about the economy. However, she believes that Ghanaians should not consider replacing the New Patriotic Party with the National Democratic Congress, as she thinks life would be much worse under the leadership of the NDC.
“Times are hard, and we acknowledge that, but that should not be a reason to bring in other people. Don’t take us from frying pan to fire,” she said.
