Executive Director of Institute for Energy Security (IES), Nana Amoasi IV has accused the Energy Minister Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh of restraining Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) from putting out “dumsor” timetable for Ghanaians.

Nana Amoasi asserted that “dumsor” would persist until the ECG is allowed to operate freely and financial constraints are addressed,.
The IES Boss was speaking to Sena Nombo on the Radio Gold Morning Conversation is response to the Energy Minister’s remarks on calls for a load shedding timetable in the wake of persistent extended power outages.
Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh dismissingly asked Ghanaians to create their own load-shedding timetable when journalist confronted him with the demands of the Ghanaian public.
Executive Director of IES Nana Amoasi expressed disappointment at the minister’s remarks noting that such comments did not come as a surprise because they reflect the consistent stance of the government.
He said government’s response to Ghanaians who are living with the persistent power outages has been characterized by “insult.”
Nana Amosi IV said Ghanaians do not need the minister to make a declaration before identifying the power outages as Dumsor.
