The International Centre for Evolution and Development (ICED) has announced Vice President of the Republic of Ghana and the Head of Ghana’s Economic Management Team, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the headline speaker at the Evidence to Action (E2A) 2019.
The conference which is to be held at the University of Ghana on the 9th to 12th of July 2109, seeks to identify and discuss accountability and responsibilities of stakeholders in the use of evidence to improve development impacts.
The theme for the conference will be “Responsibility and Accountability: Strengthening Evidence General and use in support of policy Reform and Development”.
According to a statement issued by (ICED, Dr. Bawumia has been chosen because of his knowledge of the challenges and opportunities facing African economies and how they can be turned into tangible benefits for African people.
“He brings his experience as a renowned world scholar and person who has held senior positions in the Central Bank of Ghana, among others. He understands the challenges and opportunities facing African economies and how these can be turned into tangible benefits for the African people”.
“The conference targets government institutions, policy makers, development professionals, researchers, evaluators, and additional stakeholders,” the statement said
