Spokesperson for the Afoko family Nana Yaw Osei has taken veteran journalist Kweku Baako to task over what the former claims is the misinformation and untruths being peddled by the latter.
Kweku Baako has in some media appearances produced documents to back a claim that the murder suspect Gregory Afoko’s bail terms were not met in March 2019.
The documents according to Kweku Baako are searches conducted by the Ghana Police Service in a bid to ascertain whether the bail terms have been truly met.
Kweku Baako’s claim is sharply contradicts a duly signed notice sent to the police from the Registry of the court that granted the bail.

In a short write-up sent to Radiogoldlive.com, Nana Yaw Osei described the documents as “one-sided unlawful busy-body interaction between the police and the Lands Commission.”
According to the Spokesperson for the Afoko family “it’s the exclusive duty of the court (the Registrar/Registry) to ensure that bail conditions imposed by a Court of Competent Jurisdiction are met by accused persons who have been granted bail, except if the court for whatever reason(s) orders the police or any other person or body to do so.”
“Kweku Baako, the court in granting bail to Gregory Afoko did not ask the police to do its work for it. The police in trying to conduct a search was on a frolic of its own,” he stated.
Nana Yaw Osei disclosed that the police were ordered by Justice Jennifer Duodu to discontinue the said search during the contempt of court hearings brought against the Inspector General of Police and the Director General of the Criminal Investigations Department.
“Kweku Baako, there are authentic correspondences at the Court registry indicating that Gregory Afoko met all the bail conditions and the registry actually wrote to the police notifying them of the Gregory having met the bail conditions.”
“Be educated!” he concluded.
