Some institutions do more than deliver information, they help shape a nation’s story.
For generations, the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) has served as a trusted voice in the lives of Ghanaians, informing, educating, and connecting communities across the country while preserving the rich diversity of Ghana’s culture and heritage. As the nation’s public broadcaster, GBC’s legacy remains deeply intertwined with Ghana’s development and national identity.
It was therefore a significant opportunity for the Administrator of the Ghana Medical Trust Fund, Adjoa Obuobia Darko Opoku, and her team to engage with the Director-General of GBC, Professor Amin Alhassan, and his leadership team to discuss a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing public awareness and education on specialised healthcare in Ghana.

The engagement represents an important milestone in the Trust Fund’s efforts to ensure that vital, life-saving health information reaches citizens across the country. With its extensive network of six television channels, 17 FM radio stations, and programming delivered in 27 Ghanaian languages, GBC offers an unparalleled platform to connect the Trust Fund with communities in every region of Ghana.
During the meeting, Professor Alhassan reaffirmed GBC’s commitment to supporting national development initiatives and pledged the Corporation’s support in bringing critical healthcare information closer to the Ghanaian people. This collaboration will help increase public understanding of non-communicable diseases, their impact on individuals and families, and the support available through the Ghana Medical Trust Fund.

As the Trust Fund continues its mission to expand access to specialised care for non-communicable diseases, partnerships with key national institutions such as GBC will play a vital role in ensuring that no community is left behind.
Through collaborations like this, the Ghana Medical Trust Fund remains committed to ensuring that the message of care, compassion, and access reaches every community, in every language, across Ghana.
