Leader and Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been on a three day tour of the Ashanti region with the party’s Flagship 24 hour economy policy being the highlight of the tour.
The tour dubbed “Building the Ghana we want together” commenced on the 24th January and expected to end on 26th January.

On his first day of the Building the Ghana we want together tour in the Ashanti Region, the former President and the Flagbearer of the NDC joined thousands of supporters and party Executives in the region on a 6.1 kilometres walk in a bid to sensitize residents on the 24 Hour Economy policy proposal of the NDC.
The walk started from Aboabo Post Office through to Pelele, On The Run, joined the Manhyia Hospital to Alabar and then Kejetia Market to Hello FM to Asafo Interchange through to the Labour Roundabout and ended at the Jubilee Park.
At the Kejetia market, John Dramani Mahama took the opportunity to speak to hundreds of cheering market women and thousands of residents who had turned up for the walk, about the current state of the Economy and highlighted the abandoned phase 2 of the Kejetia market project.
John Dramani Mahama questioned President Akufo Addo and Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia’s concern for the livelihood and welfare of Kejetia Market traders in the face of the failure of the government to renovate the portions of the market that was gutted by fire.
He promised to immediately renovate and refurbish the market when voted into power in the 2024 elections.

The NDC Flagbearer subsequently addressed participants at the Jubilee Park to climax the 24 hour Economy walk.
Former President John Dramani Mahama called on all the rank and file of the NDC to unite and work at the grassroots level to ensure the party win more votes in the Ashanti region
According to the former President the National Democratic Congress has good track record when it came to championing the infrastructural development of the Ashanti region.
He mentioned Projects such as the Sofoline Interchange, Hospitals, Schools, Water projects in Kumawu and Konongo, Markets including Kejetia, Asawase, Atonsu, Tafo, the Kumasi Airport phase one and the phase two, which he said has been abandoned by the current administration for four years.
John Dramani expressed concern with the state of the Ghanaian economy under the leadership of President Akufo-Addo and accused the government of experimenting with the economy hence the high rate of inflation, depreciation and interest rates making it difficult for local businesses to strive.
He indicated that his incoming administration will introduce the 24-hour economy policy in 2025 to tackle Unemployment issues in the country and create more opportunities in the economy.
