President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in Libreville, Gabon, to participate in the inaugural Libreville International Forum for Innovation and Development.
The high-level gathering brings together Heads of State, government officials, global investors, and technology experts to explore pathways for sustainable growth across Africa.
The forum is being held under the patronage of Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema and is themed:
“Political Stability, Business Climate, and Artificial Intelligence: Catalysts for Growth.”
Positioning Gabon as an Innovation Hub
Organisers say the forum aims to position Gabon as a regional hub for innovation and a key destination for international investment.
The event also marks the inauguration of the Omar Bongo Ondimba Congress Centre, a newly constructed facility expected to serve as a major centre for international dialogue and cooperation.
Toward the Libreville Declaration
Deliberations at the forum will culminate in the adoption of the Libreville Declaration, a strategic document outlining commitments by African leaders to strengthen governance, enhance transparency, and accelerate digital integration across the continent.
Mahama Advocates Inclusive Growth
President Mahama is expected to use the platform to reinforce his long-standing position on collaboration between governments and the private sector.
He remains a strong advocate for fostering partnerships that bridge the gap between government policy and private-sector growth to ensure inclusive development.
The President is accompanied by senior officials, including Felix Kwakye Ofosu, who confirmed his participation in the forum.
