Founding President for IMANI Center for Policy & Education Franklin Cudjoe is convinced only a change in government would ensure public funds are not opaquely spent on the National Cathedral.
Franklin Cudjoe who was speaking to Sena Nombo on the Gold Morning Conversation is of the opinion that the President Akufo-Addo government would continue to ignore all public calls for accountability and consensus on the extent to which public funds can be spent on the National Cathedral.
The Public Policy Analyst and Civil Society activist was contributing to a discussion on leaked documents that show that government spent over GH¢57million on National Cathedral project despite the promise of President Akufo-Addo that public funds would not be spent on the project.
Government has so far been silent on questions about releases to the construction of the National Cathedral project amidst growing demands for answers on the cost of project and the financial obligations to which government has committed the public purse.
Despite moves by the minority NDC in parliament to get some answers to these questions, Franklin Cudjoe remains pessimistic because of what he says is the stubbornness of the President Akufo-Addo and his government.
