President John Dramani Mahama has directed a full investigation into two suspicious flights that arrived at Kotoka International Airport, suspected to be involved in drug trafficking and money laundering.
The allegations were raised by Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, an honorable member of parliament, during a press conference.
Mahama has assured Ghanaians that his government takes all allegations seriously and will ensure a thorough and transparent investigation.
To achieve this, President John Dramani Mahama has instructed all relevant investigative agencies, including the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC), the Police CID, the National Investigations Bureau (NIB), and the National Security Coordinator, to collaborate with Rev. Fordjour and take necessary action to expose any drug dealing.
The President has emphasized his government’s zero-tolerance policy for using Ghana as a transit or final destination for drugs or drug trafficking.
This directive comes on the heels of a recent high-profile drug bust by the NIB, which intercepted narcotics with a street value of $350 million.
