Families of the three missing Takoradi girls are pleading with government and the police service to make headway in the rescue mission of the teenagers and stop giving false hope to the families and the public about the safety of their daughters.
The missing girls are 18-year-old Priscilla Mantebea Koranchie, last seen on 21 December 2018; 21-year-old Priscilla Blessing Bentum, last seen on 17 August 2018; and 18-year-old Ruth Love Quayson, last seen on 4 December 2018.
The man suspected to be behind the kidnappings, Samuel Udoetuk-Wills, was arrested by the Takoradi police.
He however broke cell and escaped from the custody of the Takoradi Metropolitan Police Command on 30 December 2018 and was later again arrested by the police.
Since then, the police have picked up a second key suspect, John Obi over the incident.
At a press conference held on Monday 15th July, 2018, families of the victims cautioned government and the police service to desist from giving false on the whereabouts of their missing wards to the media
They also requested a thorough investigation of some alleged accomplices of Samuel Wills who they believed are officers stationed at the Takoradi central police station since the suspect revealed that his escape was aided by a police officer at the station.
The families of the three girls are also demanding that the police and government keep them up to date on the prosecution of the two suspects at Takoradi court and stop keeping the families in the dark.
Hence they c all on statesmen ,the present and past presidents of Ghana, the Muslim community ,civil society groups and the diplomatic missions to intervene to demand that Government and the Security Agencies break their silence on the whereabouts of their girls.
