Blakk Rasta, a well-known media personality and musician, has openly criticized Ghanaian actor Kwadwo Nkansah, better known as LilWin, for his actions following a tragic accident that claimed the life of 3-year-old Tawiah Ampomah.
Speaking on the UrbanBlend show on 3FM, Blakk Rasta expressed his disappointment in LilWin’s decision to attend a film premiere while other victims of the accident remained hospitalized with serious injuries. He questioned whether LilWin would have acted with such apparent disregard if the deceased child had been his own.
“If it had been LilWin’s own child, I believe he would have either postponed the premiere or, at the very least, not attended himself,” Blakk Rasta stated. “He showed no concern for the three-year-old boy. Later, he went to church to give thanks for his own life, but what about the life of the boy? He knew the boy had died when he went to church. Would he have been so careless and uncaring if it had been his own child? I am disappointed.”
LilWin was arrested on Monday, June 3, 2024, after being discharged from the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. He was subsequently released on bail, set at GH¢50,000, with the hearing adjourned until June 27, 2024.
The accident involving LilWin occurred on May 25, 2024, near Grace Baptist Church in Amakom, Kumasi. A head-on collision between LilWin’s Benz and another vehicle resulted in multiple injuries and the tragic death of the 3-year-old child. All the injured, including LilWin, were immediately rushed to the Accident and Emergency Unit of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. Despite his injuries, LilWin proceeded to attend the premiere of his movie, “A Country Called Ghana,” at the KNUST CCB Auditorium on the same day.
Following the incident, LilWin’s management team pledged their full support to the family grieving the loss of their child. The deceased boy’s brother expressed satisfaction with the police’s actions against LilWin in the aftermath of the tragedy.
