Scores of Ghanaians from all walks of life are this morning marching through the streets of the Ashanti regional capital Kumasi in protest of what the poor socio-economic climate in the country.
The demonstration which is proceeding through the Central Business District of Kumasi is without police escort because disagreements between the Regional Police Command and the Organizers Coalition for National Sovereignty.

The police this morning turned up at the starting point of the demonstration with an order of prohibition from a Kumasi based High Court seeking to stop the demonstration.
The order signed by Justice CA Wilson was granted on an ex-parte motion filed by the Ashanti regional police command at the High Court yesterday September 18, 2019.
The last minute attempt to stop the demonstration however failed forcing the police to withdraw protection for the demonstration.

The organizers are however proceeding with the protest through Kumasi.
