
Ghana’s first and largest indigenous insurance company, SIC Insurance PLC has announced the appointment of former Ghana captain, Stephen Appiah as its brand ambassador.
The one-year deal was formalized at the Headquarters of the state institution on Tuesday, March 10 in the presence of Managing Director, James Agyenim Boateng.
The strategic partnership between the former Juventus midfielder and SIC Insurance PLC is geared towards promoting “insurance awareness, strengthening public engagement and championing financial awareness” among individuals and businesses across Ghana, part of the statement said.
Speaking during the unveiling ceremony, Managing Director of SIC Insurance PLC, James Agyenim Boateng extolled the qualities of the revered ex-international.

“Stephen Appiah represents the spirit of leadership, perseverance and excellence that SIC Insurance PLC stands for,” he said.
“His influence and connection with the Ghanaian public make an ideal partner as we continue to deepen insurance awareness and strengthen trust in our brand.”
Appiah, who spent a major part of professional career in the Italian Serie A after leaving Ghana giants Hearts of Oak in 1997, expressed appreciation.

Appiah, 45, signed with Udinese before going on to play for other Serie A sides Parma, Brescia and Juventus where he had one of his best moments.
A three-season journey in Turkey with Fenerbahce ended in 2008 before returning to Italy with Bologna and Cesena.
The 67 time capped Appiah wrapped up his career in Serbia with Vojvodina in 2012
He rose through Ghana’s U-17 featuring at the 1995 tournament in Ecuador, the Olympics team in Athens 2004 as one of the “over-aged” players and leading Ghana to its first FIFA World Cup in Germany 2006.
