In addition, two other fuel stations Galaxy oil and Agapet were also found to have broken some regulations of the Ghana Standard Authority.

In a statement, Director, corporate affairs for CAC Benjamin Essuman applauded the GSA for publicly disclosing the details of the companies that were found to engage in an illegal conduct.

“By naming and shaming these unscrupulous fuel dealers who are cheating consumers on daily basis, the GSA has boosted the confidence of the general public in the authority and its operations”.

“As consumers, we are proud that the standards authority in our country is playing its mandated role to ensure that the consumer bill of rights are safeguarded and promoted”.

Benjamin Essuman further called on the authority to go a step further to prosecute any other fuel station found to be violating the law and regulations of the country in subsequent market surveillance.

“In the second phase of the exercise, we ask the GSA to seek the help of the security agencies to close down all fuel stations that will be found to have violated our rules of engagement and are cheating consumers. Those fuel stations should remain closed until they have fully paid their fines, shown remorse and have undergone rigorous process for the renewal of their operation licenses”.
